Explore Jambay Lhakhang | Ancient Buddhist Temple

Jambay Lhakhang is one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan, located in the spiritual valley of Bumthang. Built in the 7th century by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo, it is said to be one of 108 temples constructed to subdue a demoness that lay across the Himalayas. The temple is revered for its spiritual significance and ancient architecture. It is also the site of the famous Jambay Lhakhang Drup, a vibrant festival that includes the sacred fire ceremony and the dramatic Tercham (masked naked dance), attracting both locals and visitors each year.
