Tamshing Monastery

Tamshing Monastery, also known as Tamshing Lhündrup Chöling, is a significant religious site located in Bumthang, Bhutan. Founded in 1501 by the renowned Buddhist saint Pema Lingpa, the monastery is a key center for the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.

The monastery features traditional Bhutanese architecture. Inside, it houses numerous ancient murals and sacred relics attributed to Pema Lingpa. The frescoes depict Buddhist deities and are considered some of the most important in Bhutan.

Situated in the Bumthang Valley, the monastery is surrounded by picturesque landscapes, adding to its serene and contemplative atmosphere. The region itself is known for its spiritual ambiance and numerous other sacred sites.
