EXCELLENT Based on 138 reviews Posted on Lucy H8 May 2026Verified OMSHA was the best!!! We had the most fabulous time with our guide Sonam and driver Tashi! We were busy with several experiences every day, and had nice comfortable lodging every night. I loved our opportunities to see how paper is made, rice is roasted, mandelas are drawn with such minute perfect brush strokes, and overall how Bhutanese people live. This trip was full of learning. I especially loved how Gross National Happiness informs all things in Bhutan. I highly recommend OMSHA for travel in Bhutan! Posted on Barbara A3 May 2026Verified Best Bhutan Trip Omsha Travel is a terrific operator in Bhutan. I was well cared for and the driving was excellent. Even on hairy muddy roads I had full confidence in the driver. My guide was always there to explain and teach and share. Also held my hand on tough Tigers Nest steps. And hats off to the owner for flexibility on arranging before and during the trip.Posted on JMAndré3 May 2026Verified Unforgettable experience Excellent feelings and memories with OMSHA travel and my guide Sonam Dorji, and driver Tashi, all along the tour. Bhutan is not the kind of place you simply visit—it’s a country you feel. Nestled in the Eastern Himalayas, this peaceful kingdom offers dramatic landscapes, deeply rooted traditions, and a way of life centered on happiness and balance. If you have just one week, you can still experience the very best of Bhutan travel with a carefully designed itinerary.
This guide blends practical travel advice, local insights, and a realistic route that many experienced guides recommend—covering Paro, Thimphu, Phobjikha Valley, and Punakha.
Why a 7-Day Bhutan Itinerary Works Perfectly
Bhutan travel is less about distance and more about experience. While the country is geographically small, mountain roads and scenic stops make travel slower—and more meaningful.
A 7-day Bhutan itinerary allows you to:
- Explore Bhutan’s cultural heartland
- Experience both alpine and subtropical landscapes
- Enjoy short hikes and monastery visits without rushing
Local insight: First-time travelers often try to pack too much into their trip. In Bhutan, fewer places with deeper experiences is always better.
Best Time to Visit Bhutan
Choosing the right season is key to enjoying your Bhutan tour.
Spring (March–May)
- Blooming rhododendrons
- Pleasant temperatures
- Ideal for photography
Autumn (September–November)
- Clear skies and mountain views
- Major festivals like Thimphu Tshechu
- Best overall season
Winter (December–February)
- Cold but peaceful
- Fewer tourists
- Black-necked cranes in Gangtey
Summer (June–August)
- Lush green valleys
- Occasional rain and road delays
Insider tip: October and November are the most popular months, so book flights and hotels early.
