According to legend, a young Dakpa girl from Arunachal Pradesh voluntarily offered her life to help complete the sacred structure and bring peace to the land. Her selfless sacrifice is remembered to this day, and she remains an important figure in the local spiritual tradition.

The design of Chorten Kora was inspired by the famous Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal, making it one of Bhutan’s most distinctive Buddhist monuments.
