Itinerary

The flight to Paro reveals scenic and breathtaking views of Himalayan Mountains of the world. If
weather permits you will be able to see Mt. Everest (8848 m, 29,198ft) and other Himalayan Mountain Ranges. Once you arrive at the Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative (Guide) and then drive to Thimphu (50km) which takes approximately an hour. On the way visit; Tachogang Iron chain bridge is located along Paro-Thimphu highway, before Chhuzom. It is just a 10 minutes walk from the highway. It is a great spot for photography with a stunning view and peaceful ambience.
After check in to hotel, we visit Dordenma Buddha statue: Atop a hill in Thimphu, the capital and largest city of Bhutan, is a massive, golden Buddha.
Royal Takin Preserve also known as the Mini Zoo by many is a small natural preserve for the Takin – Bhutan’s national animal. This is a rare animal of the goat antelope family and a particular species is only found in Bhutan.
Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory: The Jungshi factory is reputedly the best place that manufactures traditional paper, made using an age old method instead of the modern way.

Overnight at Amankora Lodge Thimphu

In the morning join yoga session in the Lodge library. 7-8am.
After breakfast visit Tango Buddhist Institute: Set around 14 kilometers away from the city center, the Tango Buddhist Institute is a place of serenity set in the picturesque valley of Thimphu. Founded in the 13th century by the much revered Lama Gyalwa Lhanampa, the three-storey monastery houses a number of remarkable statues.The temple can be reached through a hike (1 hour approximately) through the scenic mountains and alpine woods, which is one of the most exhilarating things to do in Thimphu.

Visit Changlimithang Archery ground. Archery holds a special place in Bhutanese culture and is more than just a sport; it’s a deeply ingrained tradition that has been practiced for centuries. It’s a social activity that brings communities together.
The Centenary Farmers’ Market in Thimphu, Bhutan, is a bustling and vibrant market that has been serving the community for over a century.Visiting the market is not just about shopping; it’s also an immersive cultural experience.
Try Archery at the Lodge’s campus. While in Bhutan we urge you to try at the country’s national sport.
Tashichho dzong is also called the “fortress of glorious religion.” It was erected in 1641 and was subsequently rebuilt by King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck in the 1960s. Now it houses the secretariat building, the throne room and the office of the King and central monk body.
Overnight in Thimphu

After breakfast, drive to Punakha. On the way, stop at Dochula Pass.
Dochula Pass is a mountain pass located in the Kingdom of Bhutan, a landlocked country in the Eastern Himalayas. It sits at an elevation of around 3,100 meters (10,200 feet) above sea level. The pass is renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges, including the majestic peaks of the snow-capped Himalayas. Once here, you will witness 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens.
In Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, one of the majestic fortresses which is located between Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River). Punakha was the ancient capital of Bhutan and visit Chimi Lhakhang, A 15th-century fertility temple – Chimi Lhakhang, temple of Fertility blessed by Lam Drukpa Kuenley, who is known as the Divine Madman for his eccentric behaviors. He is also considered a symbol of fertility and many childless couples go to his temple for blessing.
Overnight at Amankora Lodge Punakha

After breakfast 45 minutes hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel chorten with the picturesque view of the rice terraces along the river. Khasum Yulley Namgyal is a beautiful chorten located on ridge at Kabesa Gewog in Punakha overlooking several villages. It is 30-minute drive from the Khuruthang Town and a 45-minute uphill hike from the base of the hill through suspension bridge and rice fields. Here you have the option to do river rafting in Punakha Mo Chu river.
Join the art of Bhutanese cooking class with the chef. The class will take place at the former farmhouse kitchen.
After lunch, visit Talo village. Talo Village is a picturesque settlement located in the Punakha District of Bhutan. Situated at an altitude of approximately 2,800 meters (9,200 feet) above sea level, Talo is known for its stunning natural beauty, traditional Bhutanese architecture, and vibrant cultural heritage.
And then The Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery is perched on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful Punakha valley and Wangduephodrang valley. Surrounded by rich lush green pine forest the nunnery complex is a true expression of Bhutanese architecture portraying strong traditional values.

After breakfast, drive to Paro (3 hours).
In Paro visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temple in Bhutan built around in 7th Century.
In the lodge we have arranged private meditation and blessing cermonies with the Lama. And later prayer flag printing sessions.
Overnight at Amankora Lodge Paro

Taktsang Monastery: The wooden structure built amazingly, stands bravely on a cliff. It is said that the great Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress and set up this monastery when he brought the teachings of the Buddhist Dharma to Bhutan in the 8th Century. From the road, the hike toward Taktsang follows an uphill route and returning back takes approximately 5-6 hours at an average walking pace on a clear, sunny day.

After the hike enjoy Hot Stone bath at the hotel. This uniquely Bhutanese experience comprises of a bath and massage that uses heated river stones to help relieve deep-set aches and pains.

In the morning drive to the Airport for flight to your onward destination.
